in korea markets we can often see people delicately balancing food on their heads to deliver food to another part of the market. i’m always in awe and wonderment when i see them.
published this photo on instagram on the 17th but foolishly updated wordpress and the pods plugin together – turns out there was an incompatibility that was only fixed this morning (20th) so am publishing it now but backdating this post, not sure how it’ll turn up on rss.
Wanting to have a copy of my instagram photos on this website has slowed down the sharing of my photos considerably so sometimes it is tempting to just publish on social media and ignore it here but archival on social media is terrible – no way to search or load a specific date, for example. one day if for some reason instagram no longer works they will still be available here. conversely if my website dies along with me some day, i hope my photos will still be available on some platform, even if it is owned by zuckerberg. it is not that i think my photos are special hence they deserved to be archived, but rather i think most human-created content is interesting and they don’t deserve to be lost to the transience of the internet.
I am in gyeongju right now and there are tombs that are thousands of years old, somehow i am just glad they are not lost to time.
