on-going mostly unedited stream of thoughts

random scenes from jeju

My partner commented that I am the only one who likes to take photos where the subjects are quite zoomed out, so I thought I might as well lean into it:

photo of a group taking a photo at Dodu Rainbow Coastal road
photo of people posing for a photo at Innisfree Jeju House
photo of someone waiting for a child at the beach
photo of someone posing for a photo in a hanbok, and her photographer is situated across the waters
photo of a couple at a park

I just think there is so much meaningful context surrounding the subjects. Maybe this is how I perceive life in general too, and maybe that is why my mind is always exhausted.

  1. I really like those pictures, especially the first one, very graphic (whereas I’m the opposite kind of photographer, shooting details that remind me of the whole thing). Seeing people from afar, when they are tiny silhouettes, places a protective barrier between us and the world, like no direct interaction is needed. This abstraction is kind of soothing (even if it could ba interpreted as loneliness I guess)(but still, there’s liveliness to it, when the landscapes could be shot entirely people-free).
