spread of stuff from the movie, “spirited away”. first time using holbein gouache — it was nice to be able to paint over mistakes. the foreground subjects in the movie had no complicated gradients, just simple flat shadows and highlights, making it easier for a beginner like me. this sketchbook uses brown paper so light colours have more pop.
