also sometimes self sabotage looks a lot like self sacrifice so people (including myself) think they are being good people by having no boundaries, not knowing how to say no, volunteering to be the martyr, etc.

Something I’ve seen a lot is how “self sabotage” doesn’t just blow things up for you. It affects everyone around you. And the people who find their way out usually begin by realizing that it wasn’t just their own life they were screwing up.
